PRODUCTION OF ALLIUM MONANTHUM FROM BULBIL OF GARLIC WHICH HAS HITHERTO BEEN DISCARDED BY NUTRICULTURE

PURPOSE: A method of preparing a wild garlic(Allium monanthum Maxim.) from bulbil of garlic which has hitherto been discarded by nutriculture is provided. It permits mass production of the wild garlic having more soft texture and taste than conventional garlic while recycling of waste matter. CONSTITUTION: An individual of garlic bulbil is classified into a large size, medium size and small size and the individual having a size of above the specified size is seeded in a growing medium such as perlite. Then, the nutriculture is performed at a temperature of 18 to 23deg.C in daylight and 5 to 7deg.C at night by supplying nutritious liquid to the individual of seeded garlic bulbil. Allium monanthum Maxim. is harvested from the bulbil of garlic about 45 days after the seeding. Preferably the individual of garlic bulbil has a diameter of 7mm or more.
