FIELD: chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing aminoguanidine bicarbonate crystals by interaction of cyanamide aqueous solution with hydrazine hydrate aqueous solution in the presence of CO2. The process is carried out with a small deficiency by cyanamide with respect to its stoichiometric amount in the molar ratio cyanamide : hydrazine = 0.8-0.99. Also, invention describes crystals of aminoguanidine bicarbonate in the form of quasi-spherical agglomerate with an average diameter in the range from 80 to 500 mum.
