A corner reveal (10) or an edge reveal (23) is adapted for installation along the corner of a wall or at a penetration in the wall such as a door or window opening. The reveal is moulded or extruded from lightweight reinforced cement or modified cement based product and comprises an elongate member which, in cross-section, has two mutually perpendicular legs (11, 12) whereby the reveal 'wraps' around the corner. In the case of a corner reveal the legs are identical and each has a fibreglass mesh moulded therein and extending beyond the leg to form a wing which is incorporated into a coating to be applied to said wall surface. The legs have a thickness equivalent to the thickness of the applied coating. Each leg has a bevelled outer edge (15, 16). In the case of an edge reveal one leg (19) is the same as those of the corner reveal and the other leg (18) is thicker, has no mesh therein and is not bevelled at its outer edge. This thicker leg forms a reveal which abuts a door or window frame (27) when in use. A method of building construction using the reveal and an applied coating is also claimed. |
