PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing a room temperature curable liquid silicone rubber, whose curing rate and pot life are controlled so that the liquid silicone rubber can be cured promptly in a suitable time, thereby improving the workability and productivity. CONSTITUTION: The room temperature curable liquid silicone rubber having controllable curing rate and pot life comprises an organopolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, silica, a platinum catalyst and a curing retardant. In the method for preparing the cold curable liquid silicone rubber, the mole ratio of the vinyl content of the organopolysiloxane to the hydrogen content of the organohydrogenpolysiloxane is 1:6-8, and the weight ratio of the platinum catalyst to the curing retardant (an unsaturated carbon compound) is 1:4-5.
