PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with conventional vacuum cleaners that a handle is not designed to be automatically stored in a vacuum cleaner body or, assembly and disassembly are difficult because of too many component parts when such function is provided. SOLUTION: The handle 404 and the vacuum cleaner of a vacuum cleaner have surfaces for abutting so that the handle 404 can rotate outward of the vacuum cleaner body surface when pulled up. The handle is also equipped with a stopper 103 to prevent it from coming off the vacuum cleaner body. The surface to abut on the stopper when the handle is stored and the one when it is pulled up are joined so as to form a slope in the vacuum cleaner body. Therefore, the handle can be automatically stored in the vacuum cleaner body, a gap between an upper case 402 and the handle can get smaller, a handle shaft can be effectively strengthened, and also an improved design is offered.
