PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the high-speed transmission of message data transmitted with arbitrary timing between a master station and a slave station. SOLUTION: A transmission part 45 of the master station M is provided with transmission registers 62 to 65 for storing synchronous data addressed to the slave stations SL1 to SL4 and transmission registers 66 to 68 for storing the message data transmitted to one of the slave stations. The message data are written in the transmission register 66 and, when all of them cannot be written in the same transmission register, they are sequentially written in the transmission registers 67 and 68 in this order. After the synchronous data of the transmission registers 62 to 65 are transmitted to the respective slave stations every transmission cycle period, the transmission registers 66 to 68 are sequentially switched, part of the message data stored in one of the transmission registers are transmitted to a specified slave station, the message data are segmented into a plurality of pieces of data, transmitted to the specified slave station over a plurality of transmission cycles, and the segmented message data are restored on the side of the slave station.
