<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect equipment such as a printer already connected to a network when a user's own personal computer is connected to the network, and to automatically install the latest driver of the detected equipment in the user's own computer, and to enable the equipment to be automatically used over the network. <P>SOLUTION: A network investigating module 41 communicates with equipment connected to a network to acquire equipment information. A download module 42 downloads a printer driver 15 from a management service site and installs it.
