<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing formation of a fog image due to toner scattering. <P>SOLUTION: Toner and a magnetic carrier suitable for use are specified and parameters related to electrostatic charge of the toner in a developing device are set so that a number ratio of toner particles liable to satisfy the relational expression: 0.2>10<SP>3</SP>×q<SP>2</SP>/d<SP>5</SP>in a two-component developer supported on a surface of a developing roll 43 is reduced to ≤10[%]. Specifically, as such parameters, the kinds of the toner and the magnetic carrier are specified and developer stirring performances of a main unit of the developing device (such as a stirring rate, a magnetic force distribution of magnets and a doctor gap) are set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
