V-BELT FOR HIGH LOAD TRANSMISSION AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-belt for high load transmission having excellent wear resistance and impact resistance. SOLUTION: The portion of the block bodies 9 formed of a duralumin material of a large number of blocks 8 held by an endless tension band 1 and orderly arranged throughout the overall length thereof at specified pitches which is opposed to at least a pulley groove side part 13, i.e., a phenol resin layer 11 covering a pulley contact surface 14 is formed of a blended resin formed in which a phenol aralkyl resin and a novolak phenol resin are mixed at a weight ratio of 50/50 to 80/20 and also a polyacrylonitrile carbon short fibers with a tensile elastic modulus of at least 300 GPa or higher is mixed alone or together with coal pitch carbon short fibers.
