PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for molding a shadow mask, in which a skirt can be molded vertically without any curve, when molding the skirt by drawing work in making the shadow mask. SOLUTION: When making a shadow mask, an uncurved surface of the outer periphery of a shadow mask material 1b is held by a blank holder 3 and die 6, and a curve surface of the shadow mask material 1b is held by a punch 2 and a pad 5, to mold a curved surface. Then the gap H between the blank holder 3 and the die 6 is extended to a length more than the skirt length h'. While the shadow mask material 1b is held by the punch 2 and the pad 5, and the outer periphery of the shadow mask material 1b is not abutting the blank holder, the skirt is molded by drawing work with the punch 2 and the die 6.
