PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving position detector structured short in its axial direction and simplifying the alignment work. SOLUTION: This detector is equipped with a rotary encoder 6 for detecting the rotation quantity of a rotating body 1, equipped with a shaft 3 in a shaft hole 2 in the rotating body 1 and a flanged radial ball bearing 4 for bearing the shaft 3, and equipped with a structure wherein a shaft hole 5 is opened to one end face of the shaft 3 and an input shaft 7 of the rotary encoder 6 is inserted and fixed in the shaft hole 5.
