PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical resonance compensation device and its method using an adaptive notch filter. SOLUTION: This device for removing a resonance frequency of a system includes: a vibration signal generator for generating a vibration signal for vibrating the system in a predetermined notch filter adjustment mode to apply it to the system; a resonance frequency estimation unit for detecting a resonance frequency component from a signal responding in the system in response to the vibration signal; a notch filter coefficient generator for determining the coefficient of the notch filter in response to the resonance frequency component detected by a resonance detection part; and the notch filter for removing the resonance frequency of the system by applying the coefficient determined by the notch filter coefficient generator.
