PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out automatic meter reading of consumables for daily life reliably, easily and conveniently at a multiple dwelling apartment provided with LAN equipment. SOLUTION: This remote automatic meter reading system includes consumables meter sending and receiving signals, existing LAN, network apparatus, a communication line and a server. A consumables meter is connected in the network of the existing LAN. Also, the existing LAN and the communication line are connected via network apparatus, and the server receives and sends signals with the consumables meter via communication line, the network apparatus and the existing LAN.
