PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a silver halide emulsion excellent in latent image stability in digital exposure in which high-illuminance short-time exposure is performed, and to provide the silver halide emulsion, a silver halide photographic sensitive material and an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a silver halide emulsion comprising silver halide particles having a silver chloride content of≥90 mol%, a silver iodide content of 0-2.0 mol% and a silver bromide content of 0.02-5.0 mol%, and containing two or more group VIII metal compounds including one or more iridium compounds within the silver halide particles, the silver halide particles are sensitized with selenium in the presence of at least one thiosulfo compound added beforehand.
