PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a coated optical fiber ribbon easy in setting multiple coated optical fibers and forming a coating material using a forming tool of a simple structure. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method collectively coats multiple coated optical fibers in the ribbon. After applying the coating material 2 onto the coated optical fibers 1a-1d disposed on a plane, the forming tool 3 having a forming groove is relatively moved in the axial direction of the coated optical fibers in a state of the coated optical fibers disposed to be positioned in the forming groove, or in a state of disposed to be positioned close to the lower side of the groove, to form the coating material.
