PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transport system for automobile bodies capable of efficiently and properly conducting the operation to transfer an automobile body transported by a conveyor fitted with jigs to another conveyor and transport the same further. SOLUTION: The transport system A for automobile body is equipped with the first conveyor 1 capable of transporting the body 8 in such a way as supporting on a plurality of first jigs 11 and the second conveyor 2 installed downstream of the first conveyor 1, wherein the arrangement further includes a plurality of second jigs 30 for supporting the body 8 and also a transfer device B to move in circulation the second jigs 30 along a certain specified route from the place overlapping with the first conveyor 1 to the place overlapping with the second conveyor 2. Each jig 30 rises so as to lift the body 8 over the first jigs 11 in the place overlapping with the first conveyor 1 and sinks as able to place the body 8 onto the second conveyor 2 in the region more downstream in the transporting direction.
