Thermal mass flow sensor (1) for integration in a fuel injection system comprises a number of connected ceramic layers (2) on the top layer of which an electrically conducting measurement element (4b) is deposited or sintered with electrical leads (5) connected to it for transmission of a measurement signal. The ceramic layer on which the element is deposited extends outwards relative to at least one of the lower layers and extends at least as far as any of the other layers.
