<p num="1"><br/><br/><br/>A biocompatible, biodegradable composition for encouraging controlled growth, <br/>regeneration or repair of biological tissue or cells, the composition <br/>comprising a scaffold, formed from biodegradable and biocompatible material, <br/>and a receptor for a growth factor, or a growth factor-binding fragment or <br/>homologue thereof, located at or adjacent a surface of the scaffold. The <br/>tissue or cells are preferably neuronal, in which case the receptor is <br/>preferably a tyrosine receptor kinase (Trk), or a neurotrophin-binding <br/>fragment or homologue thereof. Such a composition may include one or more <br/>types of neurotrophin bound to the Trk or fragment or homologue thereof.<br/>
