PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for reinforced concrete, by which the exposed section of a plate body is reduced and reinforced concrete displays a fine finished appearance and which is advantageous at a cost and can be installed rapidly to a reinforcement by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The plate body 2 of the spacer 1 for reinforced concrete is formed of a porcelain-clay raw material and made of an unglazed pottery easily wetted with ready-mixed concrete, and installed to the reinforcement 4 through an approximately U-shaped notched section 3. When ready-mixed concrete is poured to a form section 7, abutting sections 6 are abutted against the form section 7 by the contact of two of the abutting section 6 and the form section 7 and a specified space is held between the reinforcement 4 and the form section 7. When the reinforcement 4 is inserted, an expanding-opening piece section 14 is deformed elastically and opened outward only by pushing the section 14 of a bracket 10 against the reinforcement 4, and a return end section 16 is engaged with the reinforcement 4 under a locked state after an insertion.
