PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system, etc. which can rapidly inform the fault of a monitoring terminal unit to a signal receiving terminal unit even if the monitoring terminal unit, etc. for sensing the fault by a fault sensing means of the monitoring terminal unit is destroyed. SOLUTION: This monitoring system 10 includes the monitoring terminal unit 100, a supervising apparatus 200 and the signal receiving terminal unit 300. The monitoring terminal unit includes the fault sensing means 150 and a response signal generating and transmitting means 140. The supervising apparatus includes a first fault signal generating means 202, a calling signal transmitting means 203, a response signal determining means 206, a second fault signal generating means 202, and a fault signal informing means 207 for transmitting the first and second fault signals to the signal receiving terminal unit.
