A fluid container(6) for use with an electrohydrodynamic spray device(1) and method of using the device(1) are provided. The container(6) comprises at least one reservoir configured for holding a sprayable liquid, at least one interface(23) in fluid communication with the reservoir, at least one manifold (22) comprising at least one fluid path in fluid communication with the interface(23), and at least one nozzle(8). The nozzle(8) comprises at least one spray site in fluid communication with the fluid path. The device(1) is configured to engage the container(6). The container(6) can be configured such that when the container(6) is engaged with the device(1), the device(1) recognizes the sprayable liquid within the container(6) and automatically (or manually) adjusts certain pre-defined settings in accordance with the characteristics of the sprayable liquid.
