The threaded nut (1) for fine precision engineering has a radial slot (5) on one side which completely penetrates the body (3,4) of the nut on that side. The inside diameter (6) of the nut is slightly smaller than the diameter of the threaded bolt provided for it. The part of the nut forming the slot is compressed by a degree which brings about the reduction in inside diameter, and when the bolt is screwed in the part of the nut forming the slot is elastically widened.
