A long continuous body for a cable in which a larger volume of information concerning the cable can be stored as compared with prior art with little possibility that the stored information becomes undistinguishable. The long continuous body (1) comprises an elongated holding member (3) composed of resin, and a plurality of RFID elements (5) wrapped in the holding member such that they cannot move at least in the longitudinal direction of the holding member.
