GROUND WATER CLEANING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adverse effect caused by adding excessive nutritive salts to ground water and to grow and activate mcroorganisms to efficiently clean the ground water.

SOLUTION: This ground water clean system is equipped with a water permeable solid nutritive salt applying body 10 mainly comprising a 6 or above C carboxylic acid or a 12 or above C alcohol and nutrive salts are applied to microorganisms in ground water from the solid nutritive salt applying body 10 embedded in the ground to accelerate the decomposition of an organochlorine compound due to the propagation and activation of microorganisms. Since the solubility of the solid nutritive salt applying body 10 to water is low, the nutritive salts are gradually dissolved in water not only to prevent the adverse effect due to the excessive nutritive salts but also to stably supply nutritive salts over a long period of time. As a result, the decomposition (reductive dechlorinating reaction) of the organochlorine compound due to the activation of microorganisms is accelerated.
