PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum honeycomb manufacturing method in which, firstly, the material cost is suppressed, secondly, the bonding strength is improved, skipping or defective bonding are prevented, and the reliability in the quality is improved, and thirdly, the manufacturing cost and the operational cost are also suppressed. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing an aluminum honeycomb 6 of an expansion system by diffusion bonding, carbon or graphite powder of the grain size of≤5μm is employed as releasing powder of releasing agent 5, and the coating thickness A of the releasing agent 5 is set to be about 0.05 to 5μm. That is, the aluminum honeycomb 6 is manufactured by the expansion system including a preparation step, a coating step, a laminating step, a bonding step, and an expanding step successively in this order. In the bonding step, the surface 4 of a base metal 2 exposed in stripes between the releasing agent 5 is tightly attached to the corresponding surface 4 of the base metal 2 by applying heat and pressure. The atoms of the metal element move by diffusion on the grain boundaries. A portion between the laminated base metals 2 is diffusion-bonded in stripes, and thereby the aluminum honeycomb 6 is manufactured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
