PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a recommended pathway by using traffic information collected in the past. SOLUTION: In a map/statistical traffic data storage 3, map data including link data of each link which constitutes a road on a map, and statistical data which are classified for every retrieval condition as collection condition of traffic information and contain travel time or rate of travel of each of the links which are defined with statistic of traffic information collected in the past are memorized. A vehicle-mounted navigation system retrieves a recommended pathway between origin and destination by using the map data memorized in the map/statistical traffic data storage 3 and statistical data corresponding to kind of a day and kind of weather which are retrieval conditions out of statistical data memorized in the storage 3.
