PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a noble metal-coated pigment free from color decline even if exposed to water or oil, having high durability, prevented from declining in safety due to the protective colloid component, having thermal insulation effect attributable to infrared ray reflection, and also having high performance in terms of color, and to provide a cosmetic formulated with the pigment. SOLUTION: The noble metal-coated pigment is obtained by coating a matrix pigment with≥0.001 mass% but <0.1 mass%, on a genuine noble metal basis, of noble metal colloid followed by carrying out a baking.
