The protective barrier (1), to line a road traffic lane, has a number of vertical metal posts (5) with at least a partial wood cladding (8), and a horizontal beam (6) of round wood components (7) butted together. A reinforcement metal girder (25), with a hollow profile, runs longitudinally through a slit (24) in the round wood sections. The girder and the posts are integrated by trapezoid metal spacers (11), with end tabs (15) in a clamped fit at metal C-profiles (16), bolted together at the girder into round wood beams at the butts between them. Protective bars (22) can be at the C-profiles to reinforce the mounting positions of the round wood beams sections.
