The piston rod less pneumatic drive for guide units has a cylinder tube (1) consisting of a non-dimensionally stable sleeve which is closed at both ends by a respective end piece (3) which has an integrated air connection and fastening holes. The piston consisting of two rollers (2) rigidly interconnected by two side plates (4) encloses the cylinder tube. The piston is displaced by the cylinder tube inflated under pressure, hence executing a driving movement.
