SWITCHING TYPE POWER SOURCE DEVICE AND MAGNETO-RESONANCE IMAGING DEVICE USING THE SAME

A switching type power source device for a magnetic field generation coil of an MRI device. Switching power sources (9 to 11) consist of a first and a second multi-level PWM inverters (12, 13) connected in parallel to each other and having an identical potential level value for magnetic field generation coils (6 to 8) of an MRI device as a load. A switching control circuit (19) for driving/controlling the first and the second multi-level PWM inverters (12, 13) is configured in such a manner that the switching phases of the first and the second multi-level PWM inverters (12, 13) are shifted from each other, so that the current ripples output from the first and the second multi-level PWM inverters (12, 13) are cancelled by each other and a current having a ripple further reduced as a whole can be supplied to the loads (6 to 8).
