<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which enables a user to suitably participate in a television conference and remote presentation carried out on the network and to suitably browse the same. <P>SOLUTION: The projector is connected to one or more projectors through the network and is equipped with an input means for receiving the input of a video signal, a deciding means for deciding the presence or absence of the input of the video signal in the input means, a projecting means for projecting an image and a mode selecting means of selecting a server mode and a client mode based on the result of the decision of the deciding means. When the client mode is selected, the projector receives the video data that the projector projects from the projector of a server mode on the network. The projector outputs the received video data to the projecting means.
