PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can easily confirm the focused position in an image is focused after the focused position is automatically adjusted. SOLUTION: A digital camera is provided with an automatic focusing function. When a focused position of a lens group is automatically adjusted with the automatic focusing function, a frame f1 denoting the area in an image where an evaluation value indicating a degree of focusing is highest is displayed (state ST2). When a user performs a prescribed operation in this state, an area corresponding to the frame f1 is displayed with magnification, a sub block most closely focused in this area is specified and a frame f2 denoting the sub block is displayed (state ST4).
