PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly record the moving image data needed to be recorded in real time on a recording medium. SOLUTION: By the control of a CPU 17, a DVD+RW driving device 1 records data input from a host computer 20 on an optical disk 18 in each of a normal mode and an RTR mode, and switches to one of the RTR mode and the normal mode based on a command from the host computer 20 or the setting of a setting means such as a jumper pin and a switch disposed in the device 1.
