PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a leukocyte-free hemocyte suspension by selectively removing leukocytes from a hemocyte solution that can significantly reduce a loss of the hemocyte suspension after filtration by realizing a significant reduction in the volume of a filter medium while maintaining a high leukocyte removing capability and a leukocyte removing filter device used for the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a leukocyte-free hemocyte suspension for removing leukocytes from a hemocyte suspension to be treated passes an entire hemocyte suspension flowing out of a first filter through a second filter made up of one or two or more through hole type porous membranes whose average hole area S (μm<SP>2</SP>) is 1≤S≤320, the standard deviationσ(μm<SP>2</SP>) of the hole area is 0≤σ≤0.5S, and the rate of hole area is 10 to 90%, after passing the hemocyte suspension to be treated through the first filter whose leukocyte removing capacity is 1.0 to 3.5 Log per 450 cm<SP>3</SP>of the treated hemocyte suspension.
