PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to create portable equipment without the need of a control circuit for beep sound on a substrate, and further to sense a beep sound irrespective of a level of reproduced sound. SOLUTION: An information reproducing apparatus is equipped with: a signal conversion means for converting an information signal to a binary signal; an amplifying means to amplify an output signal from the signal conversion means; a mode switch commanding means to direct mode switching; a control means to generate a control signal in accordance with a commanding signal from the mode switch commanding means; and a beep sound generation means to generate a beep sound signal. The control means controls the operation so that the beep sound signal generated by the beep sound generation means is added to the information signal to be inputted to the signal conversion means and inputted when the commanding signal of the mode switch commanding means is outputted.
