PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having high density and excellent in image preservability under photoirradiation and in silver tone; and an image forming method, and to provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent further in image preservability in high temperature storage if necessary or excellent in film conveyability and environmental suitability; and an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material including an image forming layer containing an organic silver salt, a silver halide, a binder and a reducing agent on a support, the silver halide comprises silver halide particles having an average particle size of 10-50 nm, the reducing agent is a bisphenol compound represented by formula (1), and a cyan developing leuco dye is further contained.
