PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a noble metal/metal oxide-coated pigment free from color decline even if exposed to water or oil, having high durability, high in chroma, prevented from declining in safety due to the protective colloid component and the like, and excellent in heat dissipation in summer through taking advantage of good thermal conduction effect inherent in the noble metal, and to provide a cosmetic formulated with the pigment. SOLUTION: The noble metal/metal oxide-coated pigment is obtained by coating a matrix pigment with≥0.1 mass% but <50 mass%, on a genuine noble metal basis, of noble metal colloid and an organometallic compound followed by carrying out a baking.
