PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate type shift lever device wherein the molding precision and durability of a cushioning member are good without applying a grease on the cushioning member. SOLUTION: This gate type shift lever device 10 has a base plate 20, a shift lever 30, a strength gate 40 having a groove 41 which restricts the oscillation trajectory of the shift lever 30, and the cushioning member 50 which is provided on the strength gate 40. Also, the cushioning member 50 comprises a thermoplastic polyester elastomer resin composition. For the thermoplastic polyester elastomer resin composition, (a) a thermoplastic polyester elastomer and (b) substituted amides having a structure of R<SB>1</SB>-CONH-R<SB>2</SB>(R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>each represent either one of an alicyclic group with six or more carbon number, an aromatic group, a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group, and an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group) are blended by a mix proportion of (a)/(b)=100/0.01-100/20 (weight ratio). Thus, (1) the application of a grease to the cushioning member is not required, and the appearance is prevented from becoming unfavorable just like the case where the grease is applied.
