The arrangement is able to be activated by the user during a certain time after turning off the ignition and is designed to turn on the illumination device and to turn it off after expiry of the post-turn-off lighting period. Several values of the post-turn-off lighting period are defined, of which one can be selected on the part of the user. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a motor vehicle with an inventive arrangement for controlling a vehicle illumination device.
