PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame body for a retaining wall facilitating stacking work causing no dispersion in the stacking position while dispensing with temporary fixing. SOLUTION: This frame body is formed by stacking a plurality of bar members 3 to form a frame part 2 of rectangular shape from the top view, providing vertical members 4 at four corners of the frame body 2 while providing lower members 5 at the lower end part parallel with the bar members 3 in a lowermost stage, and packing sediment inside to form a retaining wall. A first space L between the lower member 5 and a rear vertical member 4b is set almost equal to the wall thickness T of the rear vertical member 4b and a rear bar member 3b, and an outer end distance D between the lower member 5 and a front bar member 3a is set almost equal to a second space M between a front vertical member 4a and the rear vertical member 4b. When vertically stacking the frame body 1 stepwise in the same direction in front and in the rear, the rear vertical member 4b and rear bar member 3b of a lower frame body 1b are fitted between the lower member 5 and rear vertical member 4b of an upper frame body 1a, and the front bar member 3a, front vertical member 4a and lower member 5 of the upper frame body 1a are fitted between the front vertical member 4a and rear vertical member 4b of the lower frame body 1b.
