摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope supporting device with a simple structure not to be an obstacle in operating the endoscope, allowing an operator to move the endoscope quickly and in a wide area by grasping the endoscope. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope supporting device comprises an arm part 6 with a joint 5 whose base end part is fixed at a prescribed position, an electromagnetic brake 14 for restraining the motion of the arm part 6 based on the operation of the joint 5, a supporting mechanism 7 disposed on the distal end side of the arm part 6 for holding a spherical body 16 to be rotatable, an endoscope holding member 17 connected to the spherical body 16 to make motions according to the rotation of the spherical body 16 for holding the endoscope 3, and spherical body driving mechanisms 28 and 30 for driving/rotating the spherical body 16 held by the supporting mechanism 7.
