PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator capable of easily suppressing a vibrator current by a simple circuit configuration, specifically, relating to a current suppressing method for a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: In a piezoelectric oscillator circuit, the emitter of a transistor TR2 is cascode-connected to the collector of a transistor TR1, a capacitor Cbe is connected between the base and emitter of the transistor TR2, and the emitter of the transistor TR2 is grounded via a capacitor Ce1. Also, the collector of the transistor TR2 is connected to a power supply Vcc, the base of the transistor TR2 is connected to the base of the transistor TR1 via a serial circuit composed of a piezoelectric vibrator Xtal and a capacitor C1 for frequency adjusting an element, and the emitter of the transistor TR1 is grounded via a resistor Re and a capacitor Ce2 which are connected in parallel. Also, the base of the transistor TR2 is connected from the power supply Vcc via a resistor RB3, and is connected to the base of the transistor TR1 by a resistor RB1. Further, a base bias circuit grounded by a resistor RB2 from the base thereof is configured. By such a configuration, the serial circuit composed of the piezoelectric vibrator and the frequency adjusting element connects the bases of the first and second transistors, thus always inverting the bases of the transistors each other.
