PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network storage system capable of accessing by using a standard protocol resistant to troubles such as a NFS and also unconsciously accessing through an interface even though processing on any network storage as a client. SOLUTION: When the client gives a request of access to a primary network storage (A01), the primary network storage transfers the received request to a directory server which stores file management information (A02). A secondary network storage processing the request is selected at the directory server, and the request is transferred to the secondary network storage (A03). Processing the request in the secondary network storage, a packet seemed to be processed in the primary network storage is transmitted to the client as answering results (A04).
