PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-purity triethanolamine having excellent hue. SOLUTION: The method for producing the high-purity triethanolamine having the excellent hue of≤40 expressed in terms of APHA color index comprises the following stages. A low-boiling substance removing stage of removing ammonia, water, monoethanolamine and diethanolamine from a reaction product prepared by reacting ethylene oxide with liquid ammonia, a stage of carrying out vacuum distillation of the reaction product after removing low-boiling substances and removing high-boiling substances and a stage of redistilling a distillate obtained by the vacuum distillation in the method for producing ethanolamines comprising reacting the ethylene oxide with the liquid ammonia in the presence of a zeolite type catalyst.
