The input high-frequency signal (HFin) is fed to a transistor (VT1) in a main step amplifier (10). There is a connection to a supply voltage (V CC) and via a capacitor (VC1) to the amplified high- frequency output (HFout). There are connections from the input terminal and the output (34) just before the capacitor to an intermediate step amplifier (30) with an input coupling transistor (ET) and an output coupling transistor (AT), a diode (D1), a bias voltage connection (BIAS1) and resistors (R1-Rp).
