<p>The sealing material in plate form to create flat seals for flange connections has first (A) and second (B) sections, with a reinforcing insert (18) in the first section with one or more graphite coats or layers (12) in the first and/or in the first and second section. A moulding material is introduced into or applied onto these layers so that a partial or complete area impregnating of the sealing section can be achieved. The moulding material contains materials selected from the group consisting of polyester urethanes, polyether urethanes, polyacrylates, polycarbonacids and their salts, and mixtures of the aforesaid substances. An independent claim is included for a flat seal for flange connections with high sealing integrity requirements.</p> |
