<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide optimum recording power efficiently without using many PCA of an optical disk and without generating an OPC error. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU obtains the PCA of an optical disk (S2), sets a range of OPC, performs trial writing of data for the PCA of the optical disk with a plurality of different recording power (S3, S4), reproduces the data being trial-written, obtains a peak value and a bottom value of the RF signal, and decides temporarily the optimum recording power based on the peak value and the bottom value (S5). When the CPU judges that the optimum recording power being decided temporarily exceeds a range of the OPC (S6), the upper limit value and the lower limit value of the range of the OPC are widen, the CPU performs trial writing of data again for the PCA of the optical disk with a plurality of different recording power, and decides the optimum recording power which does not exceed the widened range of the OPC (S5-S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
