<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage converter capable of determining failure in a circuit element. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 30 generates a signal PWMU_L and a signal STP corresponding to a signal IGOFF from an external ECU, and outputs each of them to a boosting converter 12 and an inverter 14. The inverter 14 is stopped corresponding to the signal STP, and the boosting converter 12 boosts a battery voltage Vb to a voltage Vb+α corresponding to the signal PWMU_L. The controller 30 generates the signal PWMU_L and outputs it to the boosting converter 12, and a resonance circuit is constituted out of a reactor L1, a NPN transistor Q1 and a capacitor C2. The controller 30 loads a voltage Vm obtained when the resonance circuit is constituted, from a voltage storage 20. On the basis of the vibration frequency of the loaded voltage Vm, some failure in the reactor L1 or the capacitor 2 is determined, if any. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
