PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting coil which is small in size and low in height, and a method for manufacturing the coil. SOLUTION: In the surface-mounting coil wherein a winding 3 is combined with a pair of upper and lower cores 1 and 2 to form a magnetic circuit, part of the winding 3 functions as a terminal.
