IMAGE PROCESSOR AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the precision of a pattern matching without increasing the arithmetic processing amount and circuit scale of the pattern matching using a correlation value between images. SOLUTION: In this image processor for determining the correlation between two images, a weighting factor is set for every divided image area based on coordinate information for dividing one image 21 (template) to two or more image areas. An element item used for correlation operation is calculated from the data of pixels constituting the two images (the template 21 and a collated image 23).
